Conservative Reporter Remembers When Clintons Had Him Arrested

Conservative reporter William J Kelly is celebrating an anniversary this week but not the kind you want to have.  On July 26th, Kelly asked Clinton an embarrassing question about why as a candidate, Bill Clinton promised the middle class a tax cut, but as soon as he was in office, he imposed the largest tax increase in history.  As it turns out that was a violation of an obscure law.  The Secret Service escorted him out of the building.  He went willingly and he went home and was watching the evening news when federal agents surrounded his parents house and arrested him.

Not being satisfied having him thrown out, the Clintons decided to pursue federal charges against him that if found guilty would cost him six months of freedom and $100,000.  Kelly recalls seeing black activists committing the same offense against republican presidents without penalty.  Someone suggested that he talk to his congressional rep, Bobby Rush, the former Black Panther, who advocated “offing the pigs”.  That option did not seem to be the answer he was looking for.

As the National Review said about my case at the time, “in Clintonian America, the Panther gets a pass, the Kellys get the slammer.”

That’s when I knew what we were really up against: a corrupt ruling political elite. An elite that had no regard for – no, despises –  the working poor and middle class. It was US versus THEM.

So I announced I was running against Rep. Bobby Rush for Congress and – voilà – the feds dropped the charges against me.

From The Daily Caller:

During the Clinton Administration, National Review stood strong and firm opposing Bill and Hillary Clinton at every turn. They defended me too and I’ll never forget that.

But, now, at the prospect of a Donald Trump presidency, that once proud voice has turned mute.

Too many conservative voices are still pointing fingers at Donald Trump and none at Hillary Rodham Clinton. How could they have forgotten so easily what Bill Clinton and his wife wrought? How could they have forgotten Whitewater, Vince Foster, Kathleen Willey, Juanita Broaddrick, and Bill Clinton’s impeachment? How could they have forgotten Hillary Clinton’s push for her own diabolical brand of government-run healthcare – the precursor to Obamacare?

Who are you and what have you done with my fellow conservatives?

Amen, brother.
