DePaul University, the largest Catholic university in the country, has officially banned the slogan “Unborn Lives Matter.” But if you want to say, “Black Lives Matter” they have no problem with that. I may be wrong but my guess is that all school administrators are all named Nancy or Mary. If this is really the path you want the university to take, then give up the Catholic designation. If you are willing to stand up for a domestic terrorist organization but unwilling to defend babies, you are not a real Catholic.
The university , and I’m using their words and not mine, has banned the phrase because they say “Unborn Lives Matter is “bigoted”. I find that very curious since Planned parenthood was founded in order to kill black babies and shrink the black population. You would think blacks would embrace the motto. But they don’t.
In what can only be called a bizarre letter of rationalization, former DePaul University, President Reverend Dennis H. Holtschneider, a Vincentian priest, had refused to allow a conservative, pro-life student group from posting the phrase on the urban campus.
The absolute sanctity of life at the moment of conception through a natural death is a foundational tenet of the Catholic faith.
President Holtschneider claimed that although the institution, which has a reputation for academic rigor and excellence, “is committed to developing arguments and exploring important issues that can be steeped in controversy and, oftentimes, emotion…we refuse to allow members of our community to be subjected to bigotry that occurs under the cover of free speech.”
