Domestic Abuse Victim Told ‘Go Home’ By Employer After Husband Threatened To Kill Her

A woman says when her employer found out that her estranged husband and threatened her and was on the run, she was told she couldn’t come to work.

Jodi Porter said, “I don’t want anyone else to go through what I’ve had to go through.”

The New York State attorney general has reached a potentially significant settlement with Bon-Ton Stores, which has more than 200 department stores across the northern part of the country, over a workplace discrimination complaint filed by a victim of domestic violence.
