Donald Trump held a press conference today and he demonstrated what Dole, McCain and Romney should have done when they ran for president, but didn’t. Trump sliced and diced the media and one reporter, he called a sleaze to his face. Recently the mainstream propaganda machine has been going full bore, claiming that Trump lied about the amount of money going to the veterans from his fundraiser, the night he skipped the debate.
David A. Farenthold wrote in the equally discredited Washington Post, whose motto is never “Lie for Liberals, Lie about Conservatives” that Trump has not given money to the vets yet. He claimed that Lewandowski lied when he said Trump had already distributed 4.5 million. It was a lie but unintentional. He quoted the confirmed number, but the real number was 5.6 million. Some money that was pledged has not yet been paid and that accounts for the 400k not yet paid out.

Donald Trump took the occasion to single out ABC’s Tom Llamas. He called him a sleaze. He did that because Llamas claimed that Trump didn’t actually raise or distribute anything near 6 million. Curiously, the same alleged conservative outlets that took big money from #NeverTrump groups, like the vastly discredited RedState used “Finally comes clean” in their story titles. That is so dishonest. Trump was never dirty, so how could he come clean?
Think back at the presidential campaigns of Bob Dole, John McCain and Mitt Romney. When the press lied about them, they just took it or apologized for no reason at all. How pathetic did Romney look when Harry Reid claimed he had not paid any taxes in ten years? That doesn’t fly with Trump. He exposes the lies in the most public settings he can find.
