Ed Whitfield, R-KY Facing Ethics Probe Resigns Effective As Of Sept.6th

The Congressman sees the hand writing on the wall.  Woody Allen produced a film back in the day when he was still funny called: “Take the money and run”. Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky., 73, announced Wednesday that he will be resigning on the day Congress returns after a seven week recess. Can you imagine fellow citizens, being on recess for 7 weeks! Then come back to retire, and ride off into the sunset with a wonderful retirement package, knowing you have been a part of possibly the most corrupt era in Washington D.C. since the Grant Administration.

According to Western Journalism:

“It has been my honor and privilege to have represented the constituents of the First District of Kentucky in the United States Congress for the last almost 22 years,” Whitfield wrote.“As you know, I did not seek re-election to Congress this year and have now decided to submit my resignation as the Congressman of the First District of Kentucky, effective 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016,” the letter added.

Through my career there was a time where I was a Manager of employees, and if there was one thing that tested my patience was when someone quit without notice. But facing an Ethics probe surrounding his wife, Ed is cutting his losses and riding off to the Bluegrass State on the backs of the taxpayer. The probe should continue, and if found to be true, should be stripped of all financial considerations. What do you think?
