Elon Musk, CEO of Twitter, predicted that if former President Donald Trump is arrested, he will benefit greatly in the 2024 presidential election.
“If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory,” Musk said in a tweet Saturday in response to a Twitter exchange discussing the possibility of Trump being placed in handcuffs following an indictment.

Musk’s tweet, which also serves as CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has nearly 14 million views.
According to recent reports, local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies are preparing to indict Trump as early as next week as part of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into hush money payments to former porn star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election cycle.

If Trump is indicted, he will be the first former President of the United States to face criminal charges. Trump has denied any wrongdoing and claims he is the victim of a political witch hunt. He encouraged supporters to demonstrate.
In response to a public poll, Musk reinstated Trump on Twitter in November. Trump hasn’t used the social media platform since then, but he did post to Facebook last week for the first time since the events of January 6, 2021.
Other candidates for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024 include former South Carolina Governor and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy.
Former Vice President Mike Pence and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis are also expected to join.
In the Republican primary, polls show Trump and DeSantis leading the pack.
President Joe Biden has stated his intention to run for re-election in 2024. This raises the prospect of a rematch between Trump and Biden in 2020.
Trump has already made some proposals during his new campaign, which began in November, including the construction of “Freedom Cities” on federal land.
