Montrell Jackson, a 10-year veteran with the Baton Rouge Police Department and was one of the slain officers.  He was a husband and a father to a young son.  About a week before he was shot, he posted a message that now seems prophetic.  He professed his love for the city of Baton Rouge, but wondered if the city loved him.

Just one short week later, his life has drained from his body by a thug who will not be named on the same page as Officer Montrll Jackson.
