Florida School District Opts Out Of Common Core Making History

It starts with a spark, and just maybe this Lee County school district in Florida is the place it begins. After listening to many parents at a school board meeting on the effects of the Common Core Curriculum a vote was taken and by the slim margin of 3 to 2 the board rejects the  state wide testing program. John Dewey, the founding father of progressive American education, developed a means to create an egalitarian, socialist society, freed from the supposed “superstitions” of religion.

According to Floridatoday:

The Lee County school district voted Wednesday night to opt out of all statewide, standardized testing. The 3-2 vote left more questions than answers as the Southwest Florida school district becomes the first in Florida to say no to Common Core testing. The meeting adjourned without any discussion regarding whether any testing will replace the state tests. “Sometimes it takes an act of civil disobedience to move forward,” said school board member Don Armstrong. “We cannot allow the fear to hold us back.”
