TPN Media Exclusive: Frozen Embryo Case In Missouri Advances To Appeals Courts – Challenges Courts To Follow Their Own Laws

While America debates whether life begins at conception or at birth, one thing is for certain, the courts are bungling things up by NOT following their own laws. In Missouri, a landmark case is about to unfold in an appeals court to determine the custody of frozen embryos created by a couple before their divorce.

There are a couple of problems withe the lower court rulings. By state statute, marital property must be divided, and in the divorce of the McQueens, the court awarded the embryos to each in a ‘joint’ custody decision. Additionally, the judge also declared the embryos as property, and in Missouri, the legislature has declared life begins at conception, which would nullify classifying the embryos as property.

Big mess! So, on to appeals court. This examiner.com story features a press conference where Missouri Right to Life has stepped in to champion the appeal, and they outline the problems with the lower court’s ruling in this case.
