As social justice warriors take up the mantle of Hillary Clinton and push for a more united and inclusive America, many are growing uneasy. The push for political correctness seems to erode something many find fundamentally American: Free Speech.
And some of those who are uneasy about the growing push for political correctness are standing up, speaking out, and–like this Georgia Sheriff–making their feelings known in very public ways.
Sheriff Mike Jolley is patriotic. Very patriotic. And his form of patriotism is now going viral. He had a sign put up in Harris County, Georgia that many find refreshing.
“Warning: Harris County is politically incorrect. We say: Merry Christmas, God Bless America and In God We Trust. We salute our troops and our flag. If this offends you. Leave!” the sign reads.
Call it a trigger warning. It is there, for all to see, right below the “Welcome” sign that greets everyone crossing the county line.
And the response has been predictably polarized. “I love it the PC police will go nuts and the the liberals will trip over their tongue,” one fan wrote.
“What’s so stupid about these idiots is that there’s nobody telling them not to say God bless America or Merry Christmas,” said an opponent.
