God Bless Texas: Sign Warns Burglars And Would-Be Thieves, Don’t Press Your Luck

‘Tis the season…of packages getting stolen from front porches. And homeowners aren’t jolly.

It’s not uncommon for people to thwart such brazen holiday thieves by using security cameras — but one Texas couple is adding lethal force to the equation.

After two packages were reported stolen from front porches in their Fort Worth neighborhood over the last 30 days, Kell and Julie Curtis posted this sign on their front door:

“DEAR POTENTIAL PACKAGE STEALER: CAMERAS ARE ROLLING AND GUNS ARE LOADED.”

To keep the holiday spirit alive, the Curtises decided to hang a beautifully crafted wreath with their warning:

“It is a Texas thing, yes,” Kell Curtis told KXAS-TV. “I do own guns, and yes I do have cameras. They’re rolling. So it’s just neighbors, family: you’re all welcome; potential package stealers: you’re not.”

In case their point isn’t clear enough, they have a well-traveled sign on the side of their property favored by many gun owners: “No Trespassing. Violators Will Be Shot. Survivors Will Be Shot Again.”

Julie Curtis admitted to the station that the warnings are “a little forward, but you know what? If it protects us and keeps our property safe, I’m fine with them.”
