A gorgeous teen from Palm Harbor, Florida was excited to get ready for and go to her senior prom. However, her night took an unexpected turn after she put on her prom dress. Police would soon arrive, and she was left crying once they revealed to her why they were there.
Just like every other high school girl, Aleena Kondek couldn’t wait for the day she went to prom. Unfortunately, after the death of her father, Police Officer Charlie Kondek, the day has since turned into a painful reminder that her father wouldn’t be there for the special occasion.
Although Aleena knew the day would be difficult, she was still excited to get all dressed up and go to prom. As she went throughout the day of prom getting ready, she never could have expected who would show up to escort her to the event – her father’s co-workers and brothers in blue from Tarpon Springs Police Department.
“It’s our responsibility and our honor to stand in for Charlie,” said Tarpon Springs Police Maj. Jeff Young, according to 7 News. “Charlie would be here, and he’s not able to be here, so we want to be here for Charlie and for Aleena.”
