Two Oklahoma boys, ages 5 and 7, were sunburned so badly during a daycare trip to a water park that they had to be airlifted to a children’s hospital.
Police are investigating the incident after the boys’ mothers filed a police report.
“DHS continues to investigate this incident. The owner of the child care facility agreed yesterday (July 27) to voluntarily cease care and will not reopen….if a parent does not provide sunscreen for their child and the facility decides to use their own, the facility must attempt to get a “release” from a parent in case the child has an adverse reaction to the sunscreen the facility chooses to use,” Oklahoma Department of Human Services said in a statement.
