A hapless water skier has been hit in the groin by a flying fish after it leapt from the water during his ride. The bizarre incident was captured on film and has gone viral on social media.
It is said to involve Miroku, a member of the Waseda Waterski Team in Japan. The clip begins with a man water skiing behind a boat. A camera is filming unaware they are about to capture a one-in-a-million shot.
Suddenly, a fish leaps from the waves and strikes the skier in the groin. The skier grimaces in pain after the horrifying blow. They eventually have to relinquish the rope with the handle on and plunge into the water as the boat speeds off.
A tweet with the clip has been re-tweeted 65,000 times on Twitter. “Fish struck in the crotch,” the poster said.
