Hillary Clinton Mural Goes From Bikini to Burqa
It is good to see that political correctness is not the sole property of the United States.
In Melbourne Australia, an artist was ordered to cover up a mural of the Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, who was depicted wearing a bikini with dollar bills hanging out of the suit.
According to Herald Sun:
“I can’t see any problem with someone expressing themselves with art. I think it’s a wonderful thing.”
“I’m a woman and I’m not offended by it. It’s just a one piece bathing suit with large breasts but the nipples and private parts are covered.”
Council staff had said they had received complaints. The council’s reaction was “over the top” and “political correctness gone haywire.
A CONTROVERSIAL mural depicting US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton as a Muslim woman has been painted over.
Maribyrnong Council had requested the artist, remove the “offensive” mural on the side of the Mr Mobility store in Sunshine Rd, West Footscray, within 10 days.
But yesterday the Melbourne graffiti artist painted over the mural by covering Ms Clinton’s scantily-clad body with a niqab.
So we go from one extreme to the other in a matter of days, from a racy mural of Hillary dancing for corporate dollars to a figure in a hijab with only blue eyes exposed, and if I don’t appreciate it I am called a sexist, racist, Islamophobic and or an ignorant bigot.
Where do we go from here? It’s getting to the point of information overload on the most trivial of topics.
