Honestly speaking, is anyone surprised by this display? The Professional Game that has gone most Urban in America, had to come to a point sooner or later for this to appear. But frankly, it accomplishes nothing in a positive sense. How does this help with all the inner city problems? Murders,Gangs, guns, drug dealings, robberies, unwanted pregnancies, poor schools, fatherless children, a society with no morals. The list goes on. I am aware of instances where the police overstep their collective boundaries, but there are laws in place to resolve such instances.  That’s where it stems from, and saying it is a race issue is just wrong. White Americans have helped more people in this world than any other group, and to speak of injustice on such a scale , under the flag that has giver so much for so many is just plain wrong.

The singer was identified by the Heat as Denasia Lawrence. It was unclear if she remained in the arena after the performance, and messages left for her were not immediately returned. Heat players and coaches stood side-by-side for the anthem, all with their arms linked as has been their custom during the preseason. Many had their heads down as Lawrence sang, and the team released a statement saying it had no advance knowledge that she planned to kneel.

Making a statement in the manner that Lawrence did Friday is a shame on her. I cannot idly stand by as black people are unlawfully profiled, harassed and killed by our law enforcement. I’m insulted by this displays, and my only recourse is to stop watching. We should all be pulling together, not apart and blaming some for the actions of those that commit the crime. When did the perpurtrator become the victim? Good question, what do you think?
