Mark “Slim” Daniels is the inmate who beat James Holmes, the Aurora Movie House killer. Colorado prison officials have just disclosed that Holmes is in prison in another state because of the beating. Daniels is planning on serving a year in solitary confinement. He is asking people to become pen pals with him because spending 23 hours a day in a 7 x 12 cell gets pretty lonely.
Daniels has issued an apology over the beating…but not to Holmes:
“First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest condolences to all the victims and to the families.”
“I’m so sorry I couldn’t wipe him out and sent (sic) him packing to Satan’s lake of fire. It was just impossible to do by myself with so many cops. I did get him six or seven good ones and this stupid ass case manager (name deleted) ran out of her office and and put her head in front of Holmes’ cause I was about to knock him out. That’s why she got socked a few times.
“Once we were on the ground I looked in his eyes and he knew he came close with his demise. He was very scared. I’m so sorry I couldn’t finish him for you.”
From The Conservative Tribune:
After a disciplinary hearing, Daniels has been placed in solitary confinement, a “lockdown” he expects to last for a year, Westword reported.
“I also am open for pen pals out there,” he wrote to the publication. “There’s really not too much do in a 7×12 box for the next year so feel free to write.”
Surprisingly, no criminal charges have been filed against Daniels so far. I guess prison officials figured anyone behind bars who was left with the Aurora shooter would have done the same. It seems Holmes may have to get used to it.
