Glenn Beck is presiding over a crumbling media empire. He recently laid off 20 editorial staffers and is not hiring anyone to replace employees who quit or get fired. Employees have gotten letters informing them that their healthcare benefits have been cut. Worse yet, their visitor logs are down drastically. In October of 2014, Beck had 31.6 million visitors. In September of this year, that number dropped to 7.8 million. Much of that reduction was caused by Beck’s decision to become #NeverTrump headquarters.
Anonymous sources within The Blaze organization include:
“The few people who are still left are looking for an exit because they know The Blaze is over. They haven’t told us straight up that they’re done with us, but all the signs point to it, and they’re not replacing people who are laid off or get out.”
“We had everything when we started in 2010 — a huge platform and following — but management screwed it up with their incompetence.”
Beck started The Blaze in 2010 after having been on Fox News on the radio and TV. In recent months, he has been scaling back operations and even though he might be able to hold on a bit longer, Trump voters are unlikely to come back, win or lose. Additionally, it is devastating when a conservative media outlet has no access to top ranking administration officials that can jack up their numbers and thus their bottom line.
