The European Union continues to see cracks in it’s ranks. At meetings being held this week Italian prime Minister Matteo Renzi has shown his disaproval with his German and French counterparts. Italy being one of the lesser powerhouses is feeling the strain of the influx of migrants and does not like the way euros are being distributed to assist the the settlement that many are clearly against.
The EU crisis is only getting worse as Matteo Renzi took aim at Angela Merkel and Francois Hollande following a summit in Bratislava, Slovakia today. And he has refused to share a stage with both country leaders insisting they are not listening to his country’s views. He said: “I cannot take part in a joint press conference with Merkel and Hollande if I don’t share their conclusions on economy and migration.“It’s not a controversy, Italy doesn’t see it in the same way of the others.”
The depths of corruption go further than you think. Italy has accused a number of African nations of misappropriating the EU cash they’ve been given to prevent their citizens from leaving, with the monies most likely padding the pockets of senior officials in Africa. The expulsion of illegal immigrants has become a priority for Italy as a financial crisis threatens to collapse its economy. The clock is ticking on the EU and the dirty little secrets are now being exposed by the have nots in the organization. What do you think?
