Jeh Johnson Refuses to Release Report because “It Would Elect Trump”

illegals

Early last year the chairmen of the House and Senate Appropriations Committees asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to do a report on the number of illegals crossing the border.  Fox News has been told that the report was finished in November of 2015 and it shows that 50% of all border crossers are successful.  The DHS claims that number is only 20%.  And we know how honest they are.  cough cough cough

Meanwhile, the DHS says the report has not been finished and I’m willing to bet it won’t be until at least after the election.  But Fox says it has a source that says the report will not be released because “It could elect Donald Trump.”  This is what we saw in 2012.  Obama withheld reports showing miserable results and released them only after he was reelected.

From The Daily Caller:

“It would ‘look bad’ and ‘help elect Donald Trump,’” one source told Fox.

DHS denied the allegations in a Thursday statement.

Any suggestion that DHS is delaying release of a report on new border enforcement measures for political reasons is false. To the contrary, at Secretary Johnson’s direction, DHS has been making significant progress in the development of such measures. At this point, however, the work is still preliminary and requires further refinement, to ensure the new measures are accurate and reliable.

The November 2015 report purportedly obtained by Fox News is one building block provided by a research organization DHS has been working with to develop these measures.
