John Lennon’s Murderer Denied Parole For The 7th Time

As we go through our lives every now and then something happens and you remember where you were and what you were doing. As a child I remember hearing of the assassination of President Kennedy, His brother Bobby, the moon landing, and there also was the Monday night when John Lennon was murdered. Again, thankfully Mark David Chapman has been denied parole, and rightly so. He will once again come up for parole in 2 years.

According to the Daily News:

Chapman, 61, shot Lennon on Dec. 8, 1980, as the famed ex-Beatle and Ono returned to their Dakota building home across from Central Park after a late night recording session.Sentenced to 20 years to life in prison, Chapman currently resides at upstate Wende Correctional Facility. In past parole hearings, the once pudgy killer has claimed to have found Jesus while behind bars.Chapman has said he targeted Lennon because of his fame and a twisted belief that the rocker was a phony for living an elite lifestyle.

Yoko Ono wrote to the board to keep Chapman in prison, but for the wrong reason. She feels he would be killed or harmed by a Beatles fan in retaliation for his crime. On the other hand, I  believe criminals should do all their time. Reason being to stop others from attempting such crimes knowing they will eventually be let out of prison for good behavior. It’s not that Chapman killed John Lennon of the Beatles, he planned out the murder of a human being because of his fame and life style. He carried out a crime that altered the lives of Lennon’s Family and left a wife and children with a void that only a father could have filled. Chapman pays for it with the rest of his existence behind bars What do you think?
