Kanye West Has Regrets Over 2009 MTV VMA Interruption
Kanye West claims that interrupting the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards was “the beginning of the end” for him.
Anyone who has been on planet Earth the last 7 years remembers the infamous incident. The video clip posted to YouTube has brought over 27 million views to date, and counting.

“That night when I went on stage was the beginning of the end of my life,” West said, recalling the VMA incident.
“And I had to fight every day for the rest of my life with the whole world turned against me for saying out loud what everyone else felt. But that’s the job of the artist, of a true artist: not to be controlled by their finances, not to be controlled by perception, but only to be controlled by their truth.”, continued Kanye.

Lady Gaga withdrew her joint concert tour with him due to the interruption also. At the time of the fallout, Lady Gaga was a major artist who had dominated the Billboard Music charts with hit singles, “Speechless“, “Alejandro“, and “Bad Romance“.
Telling the truth as an artist can be accepted, or rejected. When anybody goes on stage and interrupts another artist’s acceptance speech for being fairly awarded, It’s called being rude.
Beyoncé didn’t win because all of the people didn’t like her video as much as they liked Taylor Swift’s video. Easy to understand, unless you are Kanye West, who was partial to Beyoncé because she is married to his music mentor Jay-Z.
You reap what you sow Kanye! Make better decisions and you won’t have to suffer the consequences. Live and learn.
