From the where ever there is a lawyer, a lawsuit is not far behind Category, a Lawyer was put in an uncomfortable position on a flight. To put it simply, a fellow traveler seated next to him spilled over considerably into the lawyer’s comfort zone on a 9-hour flight to Dubai. Those of us who fly occasionally have run into instances like this and it can be quite uncomfortable.

According to Daily Mail:

Giorgio Destro, a lawyer from Padua in northern Italy, claims the ‘spillover’ caused by the South African man neighboring his 29K window seat, made for a deeply uncomfortable journey from Cape Town to Dubai. According to an Italian newspaper, Mr Destro is ‘gold member’ flyer, but says Emirates wouldn’t let him change seats and refused to offer an apology or any form of compensation.

Mr. Destro told Mattino Padova: ‘For nine hours, I had to stand in the aisle, sit on seats reserved for the cabin crew when they were free, and in the final phase of flight resign myself to suffer the “spillover” of the passenger at my side.

Imagine for nine hours, standing in the aisle, sitting on seats reserved for the cabin crew when they were free, and in the final phase of flight resign yourself to suffer being squished into a less than  an accommodating seat.

I have always thought there should be a small section with fewer seats that are wider for said passengers at a higher cost. It stands to reason. The airline should not force customers into such a situation to maximize profits at the expense of the customer.
