Liberals in the leftist enclave of Austin, Texas, thought they were doing a good thing when they decided to rename Robert E. Lee Elementary School. So, they decided to open up the renaming process to the sensible, liberal denizens of their fair city.
Who won the vote? None other than Donald J. Trump.
The voting process began after what Digital Journal called a “heated” school board meeting on March 28. Liberals argued that having the school after the Confederate general was racist, while others said that Lee was generally against slavery and only fought on the side of the Confederacy because of his allegiance to his home state of Virginia.
In the end of the day, political correctness won and out and the board agreed to rename the school. I’m sure that they thought that they were going to get something like Maya Angelou or Bill Clinton.
Instead, they got The Donald. Out of 240 votes, Trump got 45 of them.
And that wasn’t all. Second place was… Robert E. Lee. Even though the school district insisted that it wouldn’t pick the name again. However, it received 34 votes.
Others receiving votes included “To Kill a Mockingbird” author Harper Lee, country music icon Willie Nelson, and, um, Adolf Hitler. Even though Hitler received only a few votes, that was enough for HuffPo to link the two, because … why not?
