World Peace, the dream of dreams. We are down to the final 10. But who is the Institute for Economics and Peace? The research is used extensively by governments, academic institutions, think tanks, non-governmental organizations and by intergovernmental institutions such as the OECD, The Commonwealth Secretariat, the World Bank and the United Nations. The last two are more than enough for me to be cautious, these are the groups that dictate to our leaders in the world what’s to be done.
According to Independent.co.uk:
There are now fewer countries in the world which can be considered truly at peace – in other words, not engaged in any conflicts either internally or externally – than there were in 2014. According to the Institute for Economics and Peace, a think tank which has produced the index for the past 10 years, only Botswana, Chile, Costa Rica, Japan, Mauritius, Panama, Qatar, Switzerland, Uruguay and Vietnam are free from conflict.
I am curious but who is in conflict with the Bahama’s, or other countries in the Caribbean? But I can assume they are not on the list because of economic reasons. Interesting that Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and Irag have issues with the world Bank and are on the list. So if you are planning on holiday and wish not to be part of our war torn planet, you have a list to choose from. What do you think?
