Man Demands Wife Bury Him With All His Money – Her Genius ‘Solution’ Has Him Turning In Grave

Greed is one of the deadly sins for a reason. It’s better to do good while you’re alive than to be so stingy with your money. It’s worthless when you’re dead. But one husband couldn’t grasp that concept. Thankfully, his wife, though she didn’t care for her husband’s selfish attitude would do something to ensure gluttny wouldn’t win the day.

Whether this story is true-to-life or not, it’s gone viral on the internet. Perhaps it’s so popular for a reason: To teach those who haven’t learned the lesson of the old adage, “You can’t take it with you.”

This story features a man who resembles a grinch. He worked hard all his life, refusing to spend his money on any extra things. He’d pinched his pennies, saving his money year after year. He even went so far as to express to his wife he wanted to be buried with his money because he loved it more than anything in the world.

Before he kicked the bucket, he said to his wife: “‘Now listen, when I die I want you to take all my money and place it in the casket with me. Because I want to take all my money to  the afterlife.’”

His wife, being the kindhearted woman she was, wanted to hold true to the vows she’d spoken years before. But hearing this self-centered request must’ve appalled her. Her husband guilted her into promising that she’d bury him with his precious money.

Though when that day arrived, she had a decision to make; she lived on a fixed income. She could’ve certainly used his money to help herself and those around her. Still, the vow she’d made to her now-dead husband weighed on her heart. She came up with a clever trick.

As her husband lay reposed in his casket, his wife sat in the front row with her best friend. At the close of the ceremony, the widow, dressed in black stood and said: ‘Wait a minute!’”

Now came the moment of truth. Would she obey her husband’s wishes? The friend watched in disbelief as the widow carried out her promise. She didn’t want the guilt of breaking it to weigh on her soul for the rest of her life. She had a shoebox with her. She placed it inside the casket with her husband just before the undertakers locked it and rolled it away.

Having seen enough, but ultimately curious, the friend had to ask: “‘I hope  you weren’t crazy enough to put all that money in there with that stingy old man.’”

The ever-loyal widow responded: “Yes, I promised. I’m a good Christian; I can’t lie. I promised him that I was to put that money in that casket with him.

If you’ve been wondering where this story takes a turn, fear not. Read on to see what the wife actually did.

Horrified, the friend asked: “‘You mean to tell me you put every cent of his money in the casket with him?’”

“I sure did,” answered the wife. “I got it all together, put it into my account, and I wrote him a  check.
