Recently, Axios and other fake news outlets reported that FBI Director Christopher Wray threatened to quit after President Trump told him to fire Deputy Director Andrew McCabe. That story now appears to be false in light of the fact that Wray planned on moving McCabe to another position, considered to be a major demotion, leading McCabe to resign. The move came after Wray read the four page FISA memo and underlying documents from which it was gleaned. Sara carter who has broken several huge stories about the Democratic scandal says that whistleblowers say his resignation is just the first with many more to come. McCabe’s cronies are looking for the door and some agents are lining up to push them.
McCabe apparently lashed out to his colleagues when he was told he would be asked to resign, according to sources. FBI Director Christopher Wray viewed the four-page memo on Sunday, sources familiar with the discussions said.
McCabe, who is facing three federal inquiries for conflicts-of-interest during his time at the FBI, is one of the numerous names mentioned in the classified memo detailing FISA abuse, according to sources who reviewed the memo.
Current and former FBI officials said McCabe’s resignation is the beginning of more resignations to come.
“There are people lining up in the bureau to go after McCabe,” said a former FBI official, with knowledge. “There will be a clean up at the Bureau of his cronies.”
Carter is also saying that the memo, which the House Intelligence Committee voted to release publicly on Monday night, is so explosive that it could not only end Mueller’s investigation but could lead to prosecutions of top FBI and DOJ officials. I assume that includes McCabe who directed Hillary’s exoneration after his wife received nearly half a million dollars in campaign cash from longtime Clinton bagman Terry McAuliffe.
Last week, the Daily Beast reported that Jjames Comey, Andrew McCabe and DOJ Deputy Rod Rosenstein are all mentioned in the FISA memo.
Former FBI Director James Comey defended Deputy Director Andrew McCabe on Twitter Monday hours after McCabe was reportedly forced to resign.
Comey, who has continued to take shots at President Donald Trump on Twitter since being fired by the president in May, tweeted his support for McCabe after Fox News’ Tucker Carlson revealed on air Monday that McCabe is the subject of at least one internal investigation at the Department of Justice. Despite the news Comey said the U.S. “needs” McCabe.
“He served with distinction for two decades. I wish Andy well. I also wish continued strength for the rest of the FBI. America needs you,” Comey tweeted.
It’s good that Comey supports his co-conspirator. Perhaps they can be cellmates.
