Melania Settles For Substantial Sum From Blogger Who Slandered Her

Melania Trump has settled with a blogger who libeled her by saying the modeling agency where she formerly worked was really an escort agency.  Maryland-based blogger Webster Tarpley made a complete and humble apology for the scurrilous accusations he had made against her.  The aplogy appeared in the Washington Post.

Along with the apology came a check made out to a substantial sum said her smiling attorney.  That leaves just the Daily Mail to settle with.  Melania filed a 150 million dollar suit against the newspaper.  The Mail also practically accused her of being a hooker, too.  The settlement with Tarpley puts pressure on the Mail to settle also.  With everyone else admitting they slandered First Lady melania Trump, it will be hard for them to make the case that they didn’t.

From the NY Daily News:

Melania claims the Aug. 19 article titled “Naked photoshoots, and troubling questions about visas that won’t go away: The VERY racy past of Donald Trump’s Slovenian Wife,” contained bogus and defamatory claims – hurting both her reputation and many business interests…

The “defamatory statements” in the article “impugned her fitness to perform her duties as First Lady of the United States,” the suit claims.

“Mail Online’s conduct was extreme and outrageous and beyond the bounds of decency in a civilized society,” the civil complaint further accuses, describing the article as a “scurrilous charge that the future First Lady of the United States worked as a prostitute…”
