There have been rumors swirling around that Melissa Harris-Perry was soon to be sacked by MSNBC. Those stories were fueled by rant about her program being bumped for election coverage. Now, it appears that is a false story. She was told to not discuss Beyonce’s shameful act at this year’s Super Bowl. She did anyway and she hasn’t appeared on air since. Today, bot Perry and MSNBC announced that she is gone for good. MSNBC is negotiating a severance package but will not allow her to stay during negotiations.
Harris-Perry, whose life is made up of a continuous stream of Debbie Wasserman Schultz moments has long been the butt of political discourse all across America. Here are a few of her best (or worst depending on your point of view):
The time she said legal guns should be confiscated so men don’t shoot their wives.
When she freaked out over that evil “black guy” (Darth Vader) in Star Wars.
The time she mocked Mitt Romney’s adopted black grandchild.
When she said it’s racist when Republicans say the phrase “hard worker”.
The time she worried American tourists would plague the paradise of Cuba.
When she likened deporting illegal immigrants to the fugitive slave laws.
The time she downplayed the relevance of the Boston bombers’ Islamic faith:
Another leftist loony bites the dust.
