Millennials, the bearing fruit of the hippie generation. It’s taken a good 40 years to get to this point, but socialism has taken center stage. The fascinating part of the story is, these college kids are not without. They come from homes that can afford to send them to institutions the poor can only dream of attending. I look forward to the days when these young idealists are not sharing dorm rooms at their parents expense, and are cast into the big bad world of self preservation.
According to Intellectualtakeout:
The expanded social welfare state Sanders thinks the United States should adopt requires everyday people to pay considerably more in taxes. Yet millennials become averse to social welfare spending if they foot the bill. As they reach the threshold of earning $40,000 to $60,000 a year, the majority of millennials come to oppose income redistribution, including raising taxes to increase financial assistance to the poor.
When tax rates are not explicit, millennials say they’d prefer larger government offering more services (54%) to smaller government offering fewer services (43%). However when larger government offering more services is described as requiring high taxes, support flips and 57% of millennials opt for smaller government with fewer services and low taxes, while 41% prefer large government. Those Che Guevara Tee shirts and scarves don’t carry much weight in corporate America as they do in socialist taught classes at universities do they? What do you think?
