The Missouri legislature had passed the bill before but democratic Governor jay Nixon vetoed the bill. The bill goes back and the Senate promptly passed it on a party line vote of 24-6 and the House quickly followed with a 112-41 vote, successfully overriding the veto. The law will go into effect in 30 days. The bill basically says that the 2nd Amendment is the only permit necessary. That goes for both open carry and concealed carry.
Other states that already recognize the 2nd Amendment as the legal controlling authority are Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Vermont, Wyoming, and West Virginia. West Virginia also had to override a veto by a democratic governor to pass their bill. The legislative victories have enjoyed support from the Supreme Court in recent years, but if Hillary Clinton becomes president, that will all change. Liberal judges don’t use the Constitution as a guide, they use their ideology. By appointing younger judges, Clinton can assure the United States remains gun free til at least 2040.
Missouri has seen an increase in violent crime, much of it due to BLM and the idea that a possible victim could be armed, should discourage at least a portion of that. Liberals have said that making easy carry laws will lead to a wild west scenario, but like so much that comes from progressives, that has not been the case. Criminals will have guns no matter what laws are passed and law abiding citizens will continue to follow the law. That is an indisputable truth.
Chalk up another win for the Founding fathers.
