Mohamed Boufarkouch told police that he stabbed a mother and her three daughters because the father scratched his crotch within his wife’s site.  He also told them “Allahu Akbar” three times during questioning.  The daughters are ages 8, 12 and 14.  The eight year old is in critical condition with a punctured lung.  The assailant and the family who were in France on vacation knew each other because they were staying next to each other at a campground.  Although the assailant claims he attacked the family because the father scratched himself, yet he only stabbed the women who were clad only in shorts and tee shirts.  Initial reports said that he was offended by their scantily clad bodies.

The mayor suggested Boufarkouch, who lives with his family in Yvelines, west Paris, could be ‘pyschologically sick’ and he is set to be seen by a psychiatrist today. 

The eight-year-old victim was the most severely wounded in the attack and remained in a critical condition in hospital earlier this week.

The mother reportedly suffered an injury to her sternum. 

French channel TF1 claimed the mother had helped the knifeman by bringing him medication when he fell ill on Monday.

Mohamed Boufarkouch has been arrested and charged with four counts of attempted murder.  The police have decided not to release the names of the victims.
