During the height of the refugee crises, Barack Obama threw up his hands and said there was nothing we could do but to import these future democratic voters into our country. The rich Arab nations refused to take a single one of them. The idea was floated for “safe zones” where refugees could live until the wars were ended in their homeland. Again, Obama demonstrated his failed leadership and said it couldn’t be done.
Here is where real leadership is on display. Obama had trouble negotiating deals because he wasn’t respected by our allies or feared by our enemies. There was no penalty for refusing to go along. Trump has negotiated with Saudi Arabia and they have agreed to create a “safe space: in their country for refugees. Will it cost us some money to help maintain these “safe spaces”? Probably. Is it cheaper than bringing them here and supporting them for life? Absolutely.
“The King of Saudi Arabia and the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi agreed with President Donald Trump’s request to support safe zones for refugees in the Middle East.”
The White House also hinted there are more deals in the works.
A White House printout confirmed the ongoing negotiations between President Trump and Saudi Arabian King Salman bin Abd Al-Aziz Al Saud, that all parties “support safe zones in Syria and Yemen, as well as supporting other ideas to help the many refugees who are displaced by the ongoing conflicts.”
The story behind this welcomed news is perhaps the real issue, in that true leadership requires hard work of negotiating real solutions to complex issues… Obama as usual “cut corners” and decided on a more political expedient however dangerous course for America, by opening our borders to hundreds of thousands of “un-vetted refugees” and creating a national security risk for every American citizen.
