Nude Recreation Week Announced in Arizona

Clothing optional resorts in Arizona sponsor Nude Recreation Week every year and this year, in honor of the Olympics to be held in Brazil, the resorts will be hosting the AANR Nude Games, much to the chagrin of Spandex manufacturers all across the country.  AANR stands for American Association of Nude Recreation.  I wonder if they will include bacon frying for the truly brave of heart.

“We have Nude Recreation Week every year, and try to celebrate at the end of the week by attracting people that might want to try the lifestyle.  Some people need a little bit of a push, and when they realize we are just playing games for the weekend, might say, ‘Let’s go try it.'”

The event will take place at the Shangri La Ranch in New River.  Michael Bloomberg and Gabby Gifford would approve, since no one could possibly be carrying concealed weapons.  First time visitors will get free admission and the opportunity to buy a membership to the AANR.  There will be karaoke on Friday night, followed by a dance on Saturday night.  I wonder if dirty dancing is allowed.

Last year, the resorts tried to set the world skinny dip record.  250 people took part but they just barely (pun) missed the record.  The games will be held on Saturday and it will be card themed.  In the running events, participants will be required to shuffle a deck of cards and will be playing poker in the pool events.

From 12 News NBC:

Participants also can play cornhole (I’m not touching that one with a ten foot pole)  and Mölkky, a Finnish throwing game, and enjoy the resort’s two pools. First-timers will get a tour of Shangri La Ranch, and hosts are happy to answer any questions.

Cyndi Faber, who works at Shangri La, said this is the perfect time to try the nudist lifestyle.

“No one really wants to be in any clothes when the weather is so hot,” she said. “When you’re in a swimsuit, you’re a sticky, clingy mess once you get out of the pool. Here, we don’t have that, there’s nothing holding onto you anymore. It’s a great environment.”

Time Warner has not yet announced if the event will be on Pay Per View.
