Barack Obama was surprised. He didn’t even know about the bathroom mandate until he saw it TV. (Must have been watching FOX because no one else covered it) Now, he tells it that he had nothing to do with it and that we face many problems much greater than transgender bathrooms. Like keeping Hillary out of prison? Now, there’s a full time job.
We are supposed to believe that the Secretary of Education would send out notices to every school in the country, notifying them that keeping boys out of the girl’s room, without discussing it with the president first. If that were true, either the government is run amok with secretaries claiming fiefdom on their little bit of territory and Obama is incapable of controlling his officials. Or that Obama wants the programs without taking the political risk. Now, I could mow the grass today or I could hire a private jet and rush off to Europe for four months of debauchery. Which one is most likeliest?
“You have transgender kids in schools, and they get bullied,” the president said. “And they get ostracized. And it’s tough for them. And the question then is, schools are asking us, the Department of Education for guidance. And my answer is, that we should deal with this issue the same we we’d want it dealt with if it was our child. And that is to try and create an environment with some dignity and kindness for these kids. That’s sort of the bottom line.”
“We’re of a generation where that stuff was all out of sight and out of mind,” Mr. Obama said. “And so people suffered silently. But now they are out in the open. I have to just say what’s in my heart. But I also have to look at what’s in the law.”
Translation: No, I didn’t push it at all, but when you stop and think about it, it’s only fair. This way he panders to both sides on this one.
