President Barack Obama revealed an activity he particularly enjoys doing while on the campaign trail in Maine Thursday.
“[I] do like campaigning,” said Obama, speaking at a rally for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud. “It’s fun.”

“And I know as I reflect back on the thing that I love so much about campaigning is that it reminds me about the American people. Because you get to meet everybody, of all walks of life,” the president added, noting he enjoys meeting young moms, business owners and military veterans.
“You just meet people from all walks of life and it makes you so optimistic about the American people, how decent they are, how good they are, how hardworking they are, how resilient they are,” Obama continued. “And sometimes it seems as if our political process doesn’t reflect that, and it’s not what we see on television, it’s not what we read in the newspapers. And that’s part of what makes it so hard to change the status quo.”
