One Democratic Candidate Accuses Another of Rape

Cora Faith Walker and Steven Roberts Jr are both running unopposed for seats in the Missouri statehouse.  Walker is accusing Roberts of raping her on August 26th.  Roberts admits that he was intimate with Walker but insists it was consensual.  Walker said that she went to Roberts’ apartment to discuss how they could work together in the upcoming session.  She claims that they had a couple glasses of wine and that she doesn’t remember anything else until she woke up in a bed in the morning.  She then went home and told her husband what had happened.

According to Walker, it was a couple of weeks before the couple decided to go to the police.  Roberts has not been charged and it’s unlikely he will be since there was no police report or a rape kit administered after the alleged rape.  I find the incident a little hard to believe myself, since democrats usually wait until they are sworn into office before they start screwing everyone.  As it is, it’s a he said, she said situation.  She will claim she was raped and he will contend that she made up the story to explain to her husband why she didn’t come home that night.

From The Mail Online:

She said she told her husband what had happened the next day, but that they waited several weeks before going to the police.

The Post-Dispatch reported that two ‘highly placed law enforcement sources’ confirmed that there is an active investigation into Walker’s allegations against Roberts. It didn’t name the sources.

The alleged victims of sexual assault are typically not identified, but Walker asked the newspaper to name her, saying she hoped that doing so might give courage to women who are victims of rape and encourage a change in culture at the state capital, Jefferson City, which she said ‘perpetuates gender violence and rape culture.’

Walker wrote to the head of the Missouri House:
Walker wrote to Missouri Speaker of the House Todd Richardson about the alleged rape
