As the Republican primary field for 2024 begins to take shape, two names have been dominating the debate.
One obvious candidate is former President Donald Trump, who has already thrown his hat into the ring. The other candidate is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has yet to declare his candidacy.
However, there are several indications that DeSantis will announce his candidacy very soon.
To begin, DeSantis has spent the last week touring the world, meeting with leaders of foreign governments with strong relations with the United States, including as Japan, Israel, and the United Kingdom.

DeSantis, on the other hand, has provided arguably the clearest indication yet that he is seriously considering a bid for President.
According to the New York Post, Florida lawmakers amended the state’s “Resign to Run” statute on Friday, which requires Sunshine State elected officials seeking higher office to retire if their names appear on the ballot.
The amendment would exempt people running for president or vice president, which means that if DeSantis became the nominee, he would not have to resign from his governorship and could return to it if he lost the election.
Rumors have circulated for weeks that DeSantis will announce his presidential candidacy after the completion of the Florida legislative session in May. The session is set to end on May 5.
However, the governor has remained tight-lipped about his 2024 plans thus far, which means that until he makes an announcement, the rumors will remain just that.
However, his actions speak louder than his words (or lack thereof). They appear to imply that DeSantis has already decided to run and is simply covering his bases before taking the plunge.
Many have questioned as to why DeSantis has yet to declare a presidential run, while names like Trump and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley have already entered the campaign.
Perhaps this was the reason: DeSantis wanted to ensure that he would not lose his governorship if the presidential election did not go as planned.

This could have been the final obstacle for DeSantis to clear before announcing his candidacy. Now that all is done — the bill only needs DeSantis’ signature to become law — it appears extremely likely that he will launch his candidacy soon.
DeSantis has already done several things that indicate he is thinking about running for president.
His position against awakened businesses like Disney, as well as his stern stance against liberal ideologues in schools, has demonstrated to the nation that he is a strong and successful leader, and he has gained the hearts of conservatives everywhere.
It is evident that DeSantis would make an excellent president; he has the correct temperament and mindset for the job.
After many years of hard effort, it appears that DeSantis may finally have a chance at the big prize. America is waiting to see if he will declare his candidacy.
