Parents Tragically Lose 2 Sons And Then Find Out That More Was Stolen From Them
It was a horrible accident that claimed the lives of their two teenage sons, Zach (18) and Connor (14). But for Ray and Kathie Kvalvog, the tragedy wasn’t over yet.
When their father saw the contents of their wallets he knew something was amiss. Money they’d been given for basketball camp was gone, about $200 worth.
WDAY 6 reports that an investigation was launched, and a first responder has admitted to stealing money from the boys after they died.
The Kvalvogs had this to say:
Ray Kvalvog, “Sadness that someone was violating my boys when they were deceased. That is just sad because we have had so much community support. People have been so nice.”
Kathie Kvalvog, “And it doesn’t anger me at all. It bothers me that they were there to help my children. So did they? I don’t know. Could they have done something else other than worrying about how much money was in their wallets? And I guess we need to say this cannot happen. I don’t know if they could have done more. I don’t know.”
Two other boys were with Zach and Connor at the time of the accident and sustained injuries. It has been reported that money was missing from them, as well. Estimates are the total missing from all boys could be more than $1,000, according to KVLV.
Another EMS named Tara Lindquist denies taking the money, and has been charged with theft, writes Fox 59.
