Parliament to Be Forced to Debate Ban on Obama Speaking to the Parliament

In what has to be one of the funniest moments in the Obama caliphate, the British Parliament will soon be forced to take up the issue whether Obama should be banned from addressing the British Parliament.  Once the petition gets the 2,500 signatures needed, Parliament has no choice but to take the matter up on the floor of the Parliament.  (I thought the British were against banning Muslims from the country)

Ironically, the democrats cheered when Parliament had to debate banning Donald Trump.  Now let’s see them laugh now that Obama is being discussed.  Of course, this is actually much serious than a ban on Trump.  Obama wants to address Parliament in an effort to convince them not to quit the European Union.  (EU)  The EU is not popular in Great Britain, because to keep it alive, the richer countries have to constantly bail out floundering countries.  The countries also have to relinquish a certain amount of sovereignty as a member of the collective.

Many failed leaders, such as Obama and Cameron think it would be a mistake and would hurt not only Europe but all their trading partners as well.  Great Britain hasn’t been hurt nearly as much as other European countries, because they preserved their currency, so the debt of other countries have less effect on them.  Although in a popular vote, leaving the EU would fail, but the opposition is gaining strength.

John Kerry weighed in on the debate:

“Europe is going to emerge stronger than ever, provided it stays united and builds common responses to these challenges.  Now obviously, the United States has a profound interest in your success, as we do in a very strong United Kingdom staying in a strong EU.”

One British politician puts it the best:

“Most British people will feel this is a debate for us and it’s unusual for a foreign country to wish to intervene.  I don’t know what he means by it. I don’t suppose he’s thought it through at all.”
