Democrat James Talarico is pitching Texas voters on a reform agenda while claiming “billionaires are spending millions” to defeat him. BlazeTV host Pat Gray blasted the message and urged Talarico to answer the attacks directly.

Talarico’s pitch: ban dark money, stock trades, gerrymandering

In a campaign ad, Talarico says: “Billionaires are spending millions attacking me. Here’s why. I don’t take corporate pack money. I’m running to ban dark money so billionaires can’t buy our elections, ban members of Congress from trading stocks and enriching themselves, ban gerrymandering in every state,” and to “establish term limits so we can show career politicians the door.” He closes: “If the billionaires are coming after us, we must be doing something right.”

BlazeTV pushback: “Why don’t you refute the things they’re saying?”

Gray counters the ad’s framing: “No, that’s not what that means, James.” He adds, “Why don’t you refute the things that they’re saying about you.” Gray then asserts, “Because everything they’re saying is true. And that’s why you won’t address anything they’re saying, and you know it, and we have the receipts.”

Gray also characterizes Talarico with sharper language, calling him “a confused heretic, a blasphemous psycho who would be too radical for California, let alone Texas.”

The ad Keith Malinak wants Ken Paxton to cut

BlazeTV executive producer Keith Malinak says Talarico has long advocated for transgender minors and suggests that should be addressed first. Malinak floats an idea for “opponent Ken Paxton”: film an ad in front of “the Cooks Children’s Hospital” with Paxton saying, “Texas, when it came time to fight for the children of our state, I led the charge as your attorney general,” and, “We’re not going to do this trans nonsense. My opponent, however, he’s all about it,” followed by “just put up quotes.”

Malinak adds that would “go a long way in showing that Paxton was the one leading the legal fight against these butchers in our state.”
