[Photo] Man’s Confederate Flag Causes Controversy; Then They Notice Ironic Sign In The Background…

After a man refused to take down his Confederate flag, it seems that a few liberals decided to go to the press and complain. However, once the newspaper did a report on the man, that’s when people saw what was in the background of the featured photo for the story.

Kenny Rogers (no, not the famous Kenny Rogers) lives in White River Junction, Vermont, so it’s pretty safe to say that the Confederate flag is a rare sight in his neighborhood. Unfortunately, with the recent controversy over the matter, it seems that the few seen flying are being targeted.

As Rogers just so happens to have one of the flags hanging in front of his home, it’s made him a local celebrity of sorts. With uninformed liberal neighbors calling him things like a “civil war jihadist,” many have outright demanded that he take it down.

Kenny Rogers flies a Confederate Flag in front of his apartment in White River Junction Friday, March 4, 2016. The flag was a gift from his mother-in-law, Kay Tolbert. Rogers says he does not harbor racist feelings and does not personally see the flag as a symbol of oppression, but a historical artifact and symbol of free speech.

“The flag is basically a symbol of oppression, intimidation, hate, slavery,” said Sam Smith, a black resident of Hartford, according to Valley News. “These guys lost the war. They were on the wrong side of history. They wanted us as slaves.” Unfortunately for those with such sentiments, Rogers says the flag is staying right where it is. “I believe everybody has a legal right to fly a flag. People are getting too excited about everything. I’m so tired with people telling everybody what to do. It’s just a piece of cloth,” Rogers said.

When the news outlet did the report, they took a photo of the man and have since posted it for the world to see – and this is where things get weird. It wasn’t long until a few people noticed the ironic thing lurking in the background.
