The police have been getting a lot of heat lately, but this thoughtful mom left a note for a San Antonio cop in the window of his cruiser. In the note, she advocates that “blue lives matter”, “all lives matter”.
According to Kens 5,
SAN ANTONIO — A scrawled note from an anonymous mother sparked an outpouring of support for the men and women in blue.
The letter, signed from “A mom,” was left on a San Antonio police cruiser offering a message in support of the law enforcers who risk their lives every day. Patrol officer Cameron Helle discovered the note coming back to his cruiser from a call. He says it was written on a piece of paper the size of an index card and tucked into the driver’s side window.
The note read, “Had your back as long as I could stay. Gotta get home to my babies. God bless y’all. Blue lives matter. All lives matter.”
“My heart was warm,” said Helle. “Especially with everything going on right now, it felt awesome.” Helle said his first thought was to reach out and find this secret admirer. “I tried posting to social media to thank her,” said Helle.
Instead the message, which was posted on the San Antonio Police Officer’s Association Facebook page, got nearly 600 likes and an outpouring of comments from people equally moved by the gesture. “They actually do have our backs, and that’s why I love San Antonio so much,” said Helle. Helle says he’ll continue to look for this mystery mom, and hopes others will take from her example and pay it forward.
“It’s amazing that I found that note,” said Helle. “Hopefully another officer gets that somewhere else.”
This is probably the nicest thing this police officer has encountered all day. This mom is on the right track when she says “all lives matter”. They do and they should.
