A Massachusetts Man Is Lucky To Alive — Thanks To A Shark. Eugene Finney attributes still being alive to a surprise shark attack. If he had not had a close encounter while swimming with his family, he would not be alive to tell this tale.

Finney Was On A Family Vacation When He Had His Close Call. Finney was enjoying a getaway with his family in Huntington Beach, California. While swimming with his 10-year-old daughter, he realized that something wasn’t quite right.
He Felt Something Hit His Back With Blunt Force. A shark had slammed into his back as he was swimming through the large waves. “The surf was pretty big that day,” Finney stated. “The waves were about 7 to 9 feet, and the water is pretty deep. You can’t touch the bottom.”

It Was As If He Was In A Car Accident…With A Shark. He claims the impact of the shark gave him instant whiplash. Better than getting eaten in half, I suppose.

Finney Discovered A Huge Gash Down His Back. He had narrowly escaped what could have been a deadly shark attack. An unfortunate blow to his family vacation.

He Later Went To The Hospital In Pain. Finney was experiencing intense chest and back pain. These pains were caused by the trauma he had experienced when he was hit by the shark. But that’s Not All! The doctor’s contributed the pain to interior bruising of the thoracic cavity due to trauma. But the CAT scan revealed more than what was anticipated…every hypochondriac’s worst nightmare.

Eugene Finney Had Kidney Cancer. The CAT scan revealed a tumor the size of a walnut on his right kidney. If it wasn’t discovered then, he would not have shown signs until Stage 4 cancer — and then it would have been too late.
