Pregnant Woman Plans To Use A Dolphin As Midwife But That Is Not All

A pregnant woman in Hawaii is planning to use a dolphin to assist in the birth of her child.

Dorina Rosin and her partner Maika Suneagle, run a healing sanctuary together in Hawaii, are being featured on the British TV documentary “Extraordinary Births.”

“I found the dolphin people a bit out there but they seemed so happy and the woman was so relaxed,” Piper told the Times of London. “I just thought everybody was wonderful and it was all a bit of an eye-opener.”

Experts warned using a dolphin as a midwife could be dangerous.

“Because of their friendly disposition and common [presence] in aquariums, we tend to think of dolphins as trustworthy, loving creatures,” Christine Wilcox wrote on Discovery Magazine’s website. “But let’s get real for a minute here. Dolphins don’t eat sunshine and fart roses. They’re wild animals, and they are known to do some pretty terrible things.”

The episode of Katie Piper’s “Extraordinary Births” recently aired on Britain’s Channel 4.
