On Sunday, Sean Spicer, WH spokesman announced that President Trump is asking for an investigation into the possible tapping of his phones during the presidential campaign. There allegations pending that the Obama administration had placed a wiretap on Trump’s phones after obtaining a FISA warrant in October.
The question is why would they do this if they truly believed Hillary was a shoo in? They wouldn’t, of course. The only way it makes sense is if Obama and his people believed Trump would win the election.
Reports concerning potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election are very troubling. President Trump is requesting that as part of their investigation into Russian activity, the congressional intelligence committees exercise their oversight authority to determine whether executive branch investigative powers were abused in 2016. Neither the White House nor the President will comment further until such oversight is conducted.
