[READ] Solider Arrested For Killing Wife’s Lover

An Army soldier was arrested after being accused of killing a man who came home with his wife.

According to reports, 31-year-old Jermaine Ray Mealy drove 900 miles from Texas to his home in Hinesville, Georgia, after a robbery was reported at the house. His wife reportedly informed him of a burglary at their home, but told him he did not need to come home.

“She told him not to worry about it because police had been here,” police Lt. Susy Jackson said.

When Mealy arrived home on Saturday afternoon, around 12:15 p.m., he discovered his wife with another man. A fight subsequently broke out between Mealy and the unidentified man, and the soldier shot him multiple times in the stomach and chest. Emergency responders rushed the man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Mealy was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. His wife and the other man have not yet been identified. Those who knew Mealy later took to social media to defend him.

“I served with this man and he is honorable and respected by many including myself,” one commenter wrote on Facebook.

“None of us could say what we would have done,” a woman who claimed to be Mealy’s cousin wrote, asking others to send prayers and condolences to the victim’s family.
