Senate Approves 1.15 Billion Dollar Arms Sale To Saudi Arabia

Once known as the “World Peace Keeper,” The United States Government is now known as the world’s largest gun store. I assume we have to sell something to the world, and what was once peace, security, food, and advancement has now turned into death and destruction. As our world advances in some instances it truly digresses in other. One can only wonder the depths of corruption that led to the senate to pass such a bill. When will it stop?

According to Dailymail.co.uk:

The US Senate backed a $1.15 billion sale of military equipment to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, the same day Saudi-led airstrikes killed at least 32 civilians in Yemen. Politicians who voted in favor of the sale argued the US should support its ally in order to combat Isis and other extremist groups in the region. Republican Senator Rand Paul and Democratic Senator Chris Murphy led the dissent, citing concerns over Saudi Arabia’s role in Yemen’s civil war, which has caused a humanitarian catastrophe since it began in 2015.

It surely makes me think the troubles we are in as a country when we have elected officials signing off on arms sales to both sides in a conflict. The U.S. government sells arms to Israel and sells arms to the Muslim antagonists and then wonder why there is constant war in the Middle East and mass migration throughout the known world causing more conflict. What would happen if America stopped selling arms to war torn oil rich countries? I, for one would like to find out. What do you think?
