Danielle Ames is a 41 year old woman who mooched off her father all of her life, but he died and she arrived for the reading of the will, fully expecting to get a large chunk of his 1.3 million estate. She was shocked to learn that her father cut her off because he was tired of her being a leech and he left his entire estate to his wife, Danielle’s step mother. To make it worse, the judge scolded her for depending on daddy and then trying to take money out of her stepmother’s money she needs for retirement. Not to mention the $170,000 she now owes in legal fees.
From The Conservative Tribune:
That would be hard news to bear in any case, but especially if you had made unemployment a “lifestyle choice,” as Judge David Halpern expressed it when Ames made a claim to a $400,000 portion of the estate.
Ames was fit and able to work, and because of her willful decision not to provide for herself, she should not prevail on a claim to her father’s estate, Halpern ruled.
Furthermore, the judge believed the entitled woman had “exaggerated” the strength of her relationship with her father and had no moral claim on his money.
Ames’ stepmother echoed the judge’s sentiments, explaining that her late husband would have been “incandescent with rage” if he had seen his daughter claiming his money. In fact, he had deliberately cut his daughter out of the will because of her refusal to take care of herself.
