Six people were shot in two incidents last night that police believe both relate to gang violence but are less sure if the two are related.  All the victims were male.  One person was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition.  The other 5 received non life threatening injuries.  Two men were shot  at 1:00 AM Monday morning in the area of 4th Street between Hennepin Avenue and Nicollet.  The other four were shot just 15 minutes later also in the downtown area.

From KARE 11:

One suspect was arrested by Minneapolis police after a foot chase following the second shooting.  Officers also found a handgun but do not know if the person arrested is responsible for the earlier shooting nearby.

Investigators believe both shootings are gang-related. None of the victims are cooperating with police in either incident.

At least one of the victims is a juvenile.

One witness told KARE 11, “It wasn’t just a ‘pop-pop.’ This was like a whole clip.”

Anyone with information about the shootings is encouraged to text a tip to 847411 (TIP411).  Enter MPD, a space, and then the information.  MPS says all texts are anonymous.
